Tools needed in this project:
Notes on this project:
This is the project to be done.
Step 1.
Remove the original console panel.
Try to remove the original console panel with a plastic knife or a plastic ruler. It is better to pry gently along the gap and pick up the panel. Pay attention to the angle balance on both side and do not pry too hard, as the console panel may be broken. After the removal of the console panel, the front panel of the head unit will be exposed.
Step 2.
Remove the four screws.
Looking at the front panel structure of the unit head, you should find four screws that fixed the unit head on the console. Remove these screws will not be a difficult job.
Step 3.
Pull the car audio out of the console.
Take the original car audio out of the console. Do not pull too hard, as the wires are connected to the head unit.
Step 4.
Unplug the connectors.
Step 5.
Remove the brackets on both sides of the car stereo.
So far the uninstall of the original car audio is completed. Next steps will move to the installation of the upgraded car audio.
Step 6.
Install the brackets on both sides of the upgraded car audio.
Step 7.
Dock the connectors of the original vehicle and the upgraded car audio.
Step 8.
Insert the wires to the appropriate location of the upgraded head unit.
If you are not sure about how to wire correctly, you may refer to the wiring diagram for details.
Step 9.
Fix the upgraded head unit with the four screws.
Step 10.
Restore the original console panel.
Finally the upgraded car audio is installed and a comprehensive test should be conducted on the upgraded car audio system.
